Portishead is due to release their next album on the 31 March next year.

Lets hope it's true this time.

When the album finally sees the light of day, it will be the much lauded outfit’s first release in a decade, following 1994’s ‘Dummy’ and their eponymous second album in 1998.

Meanwhile, Geoff Barrow, Beth Gibbons and Adrian Utley are curating All Tomorrows Parties’ Nightmare Before Christmas in Minehead from December 7-9, featuring the likes of Ladytron, Black Mountain, Autolux, Julian Cope and Malcolm Middleton.

Sigur Rós break their two-year silence to release their first-ever film and a companion album later this autumn.

This DVD features small shows from their last summer tour around Iceland.

"Heima" was directed by Dean DeBlois, a long-time fan of the band and director of the Oscar-nominated animated feature 'Lilo & Stitch'.

"Heima" will be released on November 5th as a Special Edition double DVD package with a 104-page book containing stunning photos from the tour. It will also be released as a standard 2-DVD set.

I can only say that this footage really makes me want to go to Iceland!

Os Portishead vão actuar/organizar a All Tomorow's Party Nightmare Before Christmas a decorrer nos dias 7 a 9 de Dezembro na cidade de Minehead, Inglaterra. É a primeira actuação em dez anos que vai incluir músicas novas (se excluirmos a apresentação surpresa em Fevereiro).

Jay-Jay Johanson regressa a Portugal no próximo mês de Junho para 3 concertos.

Depois de uma passagem pelo nosso país, em Fevereiro deste ano, para um espectáculo na Casa da Música, no Porto, Jay-Jay Johanson regressa novamente para apresentar o seu álbum mais recente, intitulado "The Long Term Physical Effects Are Not Yet Known".

As datas dos concertos são:
- dia 20/06 - Auditório de Espinho;
- dia 21/06 - Centro Cultural de Belém (CCB);
- dia 22/06 - Teatro Micalelense, em Ponta Delgada, nos Açores;

Os ingressos para o espectáculo no CCB custam entre 15 e 27,50 euros. Para o concerto dos Açores os preços oscilam entre 15 e 17,50 euros.

Blonde Redhead são compostos por Kazu Makino e os irmãos gémeos Simone e Amadeo Pace. Editaram o seu álbum homónimo em 1995 e com o decorrer dos anos e consequente lançamento de novos trabalhos, a banda tem vindo a ganhar popularidade, muito por culpa da voz distinta de Kazu que paira sobre riffs melódicos e uma bateria rítmica. Lançaram agora em Abril o seu último trabalho, "23", pela 4AD. Fica aqui a primeira amostra.

Vindos de Portland, Danny Seim, Justin Harris e Brent Knopf formam os Menomena. Depois de "I am the fun blame monster" (8.7 pontos na Pitchfork) e "Under an hour", lançaram em Janeiro último o seu terceiro trabalho "Friend and Foe". Sonic Youth em Paredes de Coura

Depois dos rumores que confirmavam Sonic Youth no cartaz do SBSR, e posterior desmentido, a banda de Rather Ripped é agora confirmada para o quarto dia do Festival de Paredes de Coura, dia 15 de Agosto, o mesmo para o qual já estava confirmada a actuação de CSS.

Para o dia 14 de Agosto foram já confirmados os nova-iorquinos Gogol Bordello (para quem não conhece segue um vídeo dentro de momentos).

O Festival Heineken Paredes de Coura celebra este ano o seu décimo quinto aniversário e realiza-se entre os dias 12 e 15 de Agosto com os preços dos ingressos a variarem entre os €40 (um dia) e os €70 (quatro dias).

Pois é, Leslie Feist está numa de dança! Este é o terceiro vídeo que envolve esta forma de de expressão artística, depois de Mushaboom e 1234 (será que tem a ver com o facto de o director ser o mesmo, Patrick Daughters??).  My Moon My Man passa-se numa passadeira rolante num aeroporto  onde Feist dança inicialmente sozinha e depois juntamente com uma trupe de bailarinos (é como que um video dos OK GO mas com uma coreografia mais séria)!  

TV On The Radio e The Gossip no SBSR

É, sem margens para dúvidas, um dos melhores festivais alguma vez realizados em Portugal! Não há muito mais a dizer sobre o SBSR, ainda por cima agora com estas duas confirmações de peso, Tv On The Radio e The Gossip (pelo menos a segunda é literalmente de peso)! Ambas as bandas actuam no dia 5 de Julho juntamente com Underworld, Interpol, X-Wife e Scissor Sisters (substituir este último concerto por algo mais interessante a fazer)!

ver o filme Spiderman3, ao menos ouço a música! Sim, pelo que parece, a banda sonora deste filme é indie, ou pelo menos light indie, com bandas como Snow Patrol, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Flaming Lips, Killers, Wolfmother, etc...
Saliento aqui YYYs. Sendo Show Your Bones um dos meus cd's favoritos do último ano, era com expectativa que esperava a participação deles neste trabalho, ao menos não fosse para ver a reacção do público a esta banda. Mas a música escolhida para este filme podia ser melhor, já que não foi propositadamente feita para o filme, mas sim para um jogo de computador à uns meses atrás. Parece-me que eles não estão muito interessados em causar boa impressão (serve apenas para arranjar-mos um mp3 com qualidade)!

Arctic Monkeys no Coliseu

Dia 18 de Julho os Arctic Monkeys apresentam no Coliseu dos Recreios o seu novo trabalho Favourite Worst Nightmare que sai a 23 de Abril. Esta é a 2ª passagem deles por Portugal (a 1º foi no Paradise Garage) e é so de lamentar que não seja no SBSR, era a cereja no topo do bolo. Com os bilhetes custam entre 27 e 30€ e com a data a ser tão perto do SBSR, só resta saber quem consegue ir a tanto concerto.
Esta de certeza que se vai ouvir nesta noite....

Whoo! Alright Yeah...Uh Huh

Mais duas boas bandas confirmadas para o SBSR, The Rapture aparece no dia 4 para a sua estreia em Portugal e X-wife no dia 5 (ficavam melhor no dia 4, paciência!). De qualquer maneira são duas bandas que fazem qualquer um tirar o pé do chão, ou pelo menos abanar a perna e ocasionalmente a cabeça. Este festival ameaça ser o melhor deste ano, já ofuscou completamente o Alive e começa a ser uma ameaça ao que costuma ser o festival mais indie de todos, Paredes de Coura, de qualquer maneira, quem beneficia é o Zé Povinho que vê as suas escolhas aumentarem (haja dinheiro)!!

Está aí a primeiro single do novo dos National. "Fake Empire" é mais uma viagem pelo universo desta banda norte-americana, com uma letra que parece escrita por um esquizofrénico ou alguém com patologia similar, que nem um Fernando Pessoa num dos seus melhores dias conseguía decifrar.

Os Clap Your Hands Say Yeah actuam a 04 de Julho no SBSR.
Após a edição "Some Loud Thunder" e do seu álbum homónimo, os CYHSY apresentam-se agora à beira Tejo, neste festival que pode bem ser o melhor festival do ano, pelo menos no que aos dias 3 e 4 de Julho diz respeito.

Os portugueses Linda Martini estão também confirmados também para o dia 4.

Além dos nomes acima referidos, o cartaz do SBSR 2007 integra, até ao momento Metallica, a 28 de Junho, Arcade Fire, The Magic Numbers, Klaxons, Bloc Party, Bunnyranch e The Gift, a 03 de Julho, Maximo Park, 04 de Julho e Scissor Sisters, Interpol e Underworld, a 05 de Julho.
